Getting Started
Welcome to ActionConnect. This section gives everyone — agents, admins, and end-users — the shared vocabulary and mental model needed to use the product. If you read only one section, read this one.
What ActionConnect is
ActionConnect is a single platform that brings together two things teams usually buy separately:
- A helpdesk for handling support requests: tickets with assignees, statuses and priorities, threaded comments, attachments, SLA timers, canned responses, email-to-ticket, and a customer portal with a knowledge base.
- A work-management suite for getting work done: projects, tasks with subtasks and dependencies, milestones, multiple views (List, Board, Timeline, Calendar, Table, Workload, Chart), agile sprints, goals, portfolios, dashboards, no-code automations, intake forms, and time tracking.
Because both live in the same product over the same data, a support ticket can flow into engineering work, and project progress is visible to the people answering customers.
Each organization is isolated
When your company signs up, ActionConnect provisions a tenant: a dedicated, isolated set of resources just for your organization. Your data lives in its own database — it is structurally impossible for one organization to read or write another's data. Your tenant also gets its own storage for attachments, its own routing, and its own default configuration (statuses, priorities, roles, a sample project, and starter templates).
You reach your organization's app at {your-org}.actionconnect.com. Your external customers reach your portal at a per-tenant subdomain or your own custom domain.
The five surfaces at a glance

| Tenant app (agents) | Your team | Email + password (SSO later) |
| Customer portal | Your end-users | Magic link (passwordless) |
| Platform admin console | ActionConnect staff | Strong auth (SSO + role gate) |
| Documentation | Everyone | None (public) |
